Between Sw...Thank's for all the nice comments!

Between Sweden and Alandia existed for nearly one hundred years a post boat route. Farmers and fishermens had to keep the post going. It lasted from early 1800 to about 1910.

The boat used was small, but seaworthy klinkerbuildt crafts. Stina is not a replica, but has the same design as these postboats.

She was designed by Eskil Halldin in 1982. He buildt it for his own use and I was lucky to have her in 1995. LOA 5,4m, no ballast but a wooden keel of one feet. Draught is about 2,5 feets.

There must be enough of wind to keep her going, so in lighter weather I'm mostly motoring her. But for a boat without ballast, she's keeping her sail very well and gives in any conditions a good feel of security.

Stina has some bad planks, so it's possible she will be for some time out of sight. But if all goes as planned, she's sailing this summer intensively.

Best regards, Jan, FinlandJan Eeralahttp://www.rupuranta.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5007838299911865964.post-33861643120705832292011-06-27T01:56:57.980-07:002011-06-27T01:56:57.980-07:00I just watched Jan's video for the second time...I just watched Jan's video for the second time, there's a sense of tranquility and comfort with his environment which he conveys very strongly

Nice boat too like to know more about the design.Bursledon Bloggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14020592383830135476noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5007838299911865964.post-48850755279659515772011-06-20T22:56:45.381-07:002011-06-20T22:56:45.381-07:00Ah, my friend!
